day 342, huntington beach central library. one of my son and my favorite places. this area here reminds me of kazakhstan every time i'm there. i can't explain why. but we hadn't been there in a long time before today. it's a tradition; he get's a chocolate chip cookie and i get a cafe mocha. it felt good to be there. also, we got him two books for $1 in the used book section! sweet!

day 341, awesome thing today. we heard a thump on the side of my house. i thought it was a ball hitting the house or something. my son and i went out to see what it was. it was two hawks trying to get a dove. the dove looked like it was hurt or dead laying in my grass. when they saw us, one hawk flew on the neighbors house and the other one went to the wires. of course i had to run in and get my camera. after all of us staring at each other for a while, the hawks eventually gave up and flew away. the dove laid there for about an hour and when i went to check on it later, it was gone. i think they were cooper's hawks.
