day 145 seal beach sky

looking up at the sky while on the end of the pier and i see what looks like a fish to me, maybe a marlin! but not only that, this fish made out of clouds had a little rainbow in the tail! can you see it? i remember when i was a kid my friend stacie and i would lay on our backs in her front yard making things out of the clouds. we did that a lot. in addition we would sing all the songs from elton john's greatest hits album from 1974, over and over and over while laying there. this reminded me of that. with a bonus rainbow tail!

day 144 long beach

wardlow park. a little early evening walk around the park. it was a lovely late afternoon, early evening. the park was busy with kids on the playground, some people practicing karate, teens playing basketball, parents practicing soccer with a few kids, a couple dog walkers, a few random strollers like me, and this group of young teen boys on bikes who i guess two park community center people thought might be up to no good so they went to talk to them for a few minutes and apparently deciding they are ok. nice park!

day 141 brea

carbon canyon coastal redwood grove. this was a nice walk. it is an easy walk, not a hike. but it's nice. we pretty much covered the whole park. a bad thing though was we saw two geese that each were missing a leg, and we saw one that had fishing line wrapped around one leg. there was no way for us to catch it and i didn't have a way to get it off even if we did catch it. i saw a park ranger and flagged him down and told him. he said they would go check it out. it made me so mad and sad to see that. those poor birds. stupid humans.

day 136 los angeles

a day of outreach on the streets in outskirts of skidrow. this man is an artist and is working on a painting. i saw it and it's good. i try not to judge people because you don't know someone's story and life issues. this man was nice and his puppy is adorable. he told me there isn't a lot to do when you're homeless so he likes to paint a lot.

day 135 silverado canyon

this is gethen jenkins giving us some outlaw country music at the silverado concert series. he had a full band there with him the whole time except for the last song he performed by himself. he's good! they were all good! i really enjoyed it. i definitely want to see them again.

day 131 palos verdes estates

neptune fountain. this is a replica, a smaller version, of a bronze fountain in italy. the story of this fountain is interesting and worth a google! too much for me to type out here. i recommend to look it up if you don't already know about it.

day 130 signal hill

i always feel better after the walk from bottom of hill street to hill top park and around a little on the way back down.

day 129 trabuco canyon

a drive through silverado and trabuco and a walk somewhere out there too always makes me feel better. we played with three goats that we have seen several times now and have named them billy, james and margaret. we pet our favorite two miniature horses that we have named adam and sally. we saw two donkeys, who we have yet to name but have seen a couple times and we saw and heard various farm birds. we saw our favorite white horse snowflake, who we always look for to be sticking it's head out of it's stall in silverado. we pulled over and said hi. oh and lots and lots of dogs and horses. i seriously wish to live out there somewhere someday. and i'd have a few alpacas!

day 128 fullerton

brea dam park. we were not prepared for this walk or hike. i was just hoping for a little walk around somewhere new. not really for a hike. this was not a place for flip flops. looks like a decent place for mtb riding. we may go back, better prepared of course with appropriate shoes.

day 122 los angeles

busy day in the fashion district! i didn't really get a good photo while volunteering with people experiencing homelessness today. after we were done, i drove around dtla a little and i just think this is a good example and memory of the strange time we're living in with everyone wearing a mask.

day 121 silverado canyon

i went to a neighborhood art tour thing today and it was awesome. you drive to each house along silverado canyon road, 9 houses participated today, and they have their art out on patios and driveways for you to look at and buy if you want. i love silverado canyon and artsy stuff like this, so this was a perfect day for me. this bridge and road, that i walked not drove up, lead up to one of the houses, with dozens of hummingbirds all around! i was in heaven. the house and setting are perfect. i want to live there! the mother of the artist invited me in the house to see the sculpture her daughter did with hummingbirds. she said, you have to see this sculpture since you love hummingbirds so much. it was a beautiful sculpture. AND i got to eat a yummy sandwich from silverado canyon market. they are in the process of adding a restaurant to their small market. i sat in the new outdoor eating area that has a great view and just looks awesome. i can't wait until the restaurant is ready for customers. there were a few artists in modjeska canyon too but i didn't have enough time. next time they do this i will make time.
