ruby's closed their door for the last time this weekend. after 30 years being at the end of the pier. it's never going to be the same without this iconic restaurant there.

an evening power walk through down town up one side of main street from pch to the end of the pier then back down with a little extra exploring to get a few more steps in. back to the car and off we go...

day 49 west hollywood. rainbow bar & grill. the sunset strip, i have so many memories from 80s rock and heavy metal heyday. mainly from rainbow. i went there a lot. but also the roxy and whiskey. and other bars, pubs and clubs around there too. great memories. good memories. fun memories. crazy memories. bad memories. this was such a great time in my life. i could go on but i'll spare you the stories. haha.

day 46 huntington beach. with my dog, getting some walking in. 3 miles today. i dared to take her on the pier, knowing dogs are technically not allowed. but i see so many dogs on the pier regularly so i thought i'd give it a try and worse that could happen is i'd get asked to leave the pier. life guard walked right by me with no word...

day 45 ojai

day 45 ojai. day trip to have pizza and see my niece and then to bart's books. had to wait in line to get into bart's! crazy. it wasn't crowded at all but they were limiting customers of course. but downtown ojai was more busy today than i think i have ever seen. a quick stop at the beach by the ventura fairgrounds to see the sunset, then a long trip home in heavy traffic.

day 43 huntington beach

bolsa chica ecological reserve aka wetlands. we saw jellyfish off the bridge. and lots of birds of course. it's always nice to walk around the wetlands. it was quite windy today though and i wish it was clearer to see the mountains better. but after walking main street and the pier and then stopping to walk around the wetlands we got a lot of walking in today. all good!

main street, huntington beach. that's musician kenny hale, an excellent singer! richie the barber in the background; this guy has his face tattooed as a clown. his hair is

red and in the style of bozo the clown. and he always wears a tiny clown hat. i really want to talk to him. i am fascinated as to the mindset of someone who would do this to their head! someday i'm going to get up the nerve to say hi and try to strike up a conversation. lunch time on a beautiful day.

day 38 los angeles

out there trying to help people experiencing homelessness. we saw a man get hit by a car right next to me. his skateboard bounced off my car. he was ok but looked like he might have a broken arm. the car was going so fast, he is lucky it wasn't much worse.
