i was taking pictures under the pier when this kid was walking toward me to go under the pier and on his way to the other side. he saw me taking a picture toward the ocean so he started to go behind me (thank you! so many people just walk right in front) but i stepped back so he could go in front, i'm thinking "i'm going to get him in it"! i think he might have sensed that. he is not modeling for me here but it kind of looks like he is. ha! i like it! i love moments like this.

downtown view from long beach shoreline marina. this is the first time i walked to the end, by the little grissom island. i've walked along the marina many times, just never went all the way to the end! it's a lovely walk. (except for all those container ships waiting out there. don't get me started...) there were four cruise ships, big boats, little boats, sailboats, and of course the queen. tons of people. a busy day at long beach shoreline marina and village areas. but it was a beautiful day. i should add, the further along you walk down towards the end, the fewer people there are and that's what makes it a lovely walk. 😁

day 86 anaheim

anaheim hills riding and walking trail. there are several trails in this area. this is on the weir canyon trail. it's beautiful and i love the hike! i took my son with me this time so we went further than i did when i went by myself. it was sunny and warm today, almost hot, i wouldn't want to be out there if it was much hotter. there is pretty much no shade that i could see on trails. this will definitely be one of our regular hiking trails. the higher the better! there are many trails though throughout santiago oaks regional park. we haven't even scratched the surface yet. can't wait to go back and try a different trail.

day 85 signal hill

part of a poem on the walkway at hilltop park. i've been walking from the bottom of signal hill, on hill street, to hilltop park. sometimes then i go on trails, up and down and all around streets, etc. sometimes just up and back down, or around the trail where you can see the airport. it's a good little workout. especially the beginning going up hill street. 🥵 sometimes, like today, i drag my son along with me. 😬

a fast two mile walk around el dorado nature center, my go-to when i don't feel like going far but i'd also like to enjoy the walk.

we went to see the sunset but it was underwhelming tonight. not bad, but not spectacular either. just...meh. but we did get some walking in and it was nice to be out and watch the sun go down. there were alot of people there!

day 80 los angeles

a day of giving back on the streets. first time to see a rooster and chicken out there. there were actually 3 chickens and 1 rooster. they didn't belong to the people there. not sure where they came from.

day 79 signal hill

three mile walk around signal hill. down and then back up hill street, then up to hill top park and all the way around to circle back down half way down hill street, took side trail through neighborhood and back up stairs then around some more. a good walking workout!

walked the upper trails today. saw a coyote, up close. as in, too close. and found a bmx area too with jumps and trails for them to ride that i have never seen before. and a big tree with a swing with a good view.

a nice afternoon walking a few miles of trails of the ecological reserve wetlands with an old friend (she's not old...i've known her a long time 😁). and here's lots of green for st patrick's day. ☘️

my dog sam and big larry. we named him big larry because we have a skeleton too and you will find him all over our house in any room at any time. his name is larry. but he is a human size! so when we drive or walk by this big guy we wave and say "hi big larry".

day 73 olinda

oil museum and trail. two mile loop. zig zag up and zig zag down. a good hike...i like! the museum was closed today, but there are things to see outside the museum pertaining to the oil history in olinda. some old equipment, vehicles and some oil pumps; working and not. they have the oldest (or one of the oldest) working oil pumps in california. that's what i read anyway before going there. a cool place for those interested in this type of history and get some exercise in as well. the hike up i wouldn't consider easy. not too difficult, but not "easy". go there!
